The Pug Pedigree Research Database is designed to allow look ups of pedigree information about pugs. Are you interested in your pug's family? Curious what an ancestor of your pug looked like? Looking to purchase a pug but unsure about their history? This site is designed to help you discover your pug's heritage, another dog's ancestry, or pedigree information about the pug breed in general.
What makes this database different? Two things: first we work hard at keeping it updated, and we try to keep it accurate, as well. Second, we include small photographs of the dogs where we can find them or when they are sent to us for this use. Send your photographs along with pedigree information using the Add/Updates link above. All photos will be resized to keep bandwidth consumption minimal and the pedigrees fast loading.
If you find the Pug Pedigree site to be of value to your research, please consider a donation, however small, through Paypal's secure site to help support the costs of bandwidth.
The database in use on this site does NOT contain every pug ever registered. It does contain over 38,000 individual dogs, going back into the late 1800s and early 1900s. The database is constantly growing and being edited, pruned and corrected. Most of the pugs in the database are show dogs, but all pedigrees are welcome. Information has been collected from numerous sources, and checked to the best of our ability, but errors can and do occur, whether from the original source, inputting, or simply bad typing! If you spot an error, please use the link for Add/Updates and select the corrections link. To add a pug use the form at the Add/Updates and select the add link. If you would like to know a little more about the database, click information. If you're having a problem with the database, please check out the Frequently Asked Questions page.
* DISCLAIMER: This service is provided as a hobby and out of the goodness of our hearts and wallets. This is not the database of any official organization. Errors in the records can and do exist. If you send us a polite email or fill out a form regarding errors as you find them, we will do our best to fix them as there is time. Confusion often exists over the use of 's and s on kennel names. We have attempted to use the spelling as registered with the country of origin registry. Updates are normally performed quarterly if not more often; check the updates page for specific information. This information is provided as is, without warranty of any kind.
